About Nourish International

Nourish accomplishes its mission by serving as a platform for students to make a global impact today while preparing themselves for a lifetime of making a difference.

Our model consists of two phases: first, it engages students in running on-campus social enterprises. Second, it empowers communities by having students invest their profits, time, and skills into community based solutions to poverty. To learn more, please visit the Our Model section of our site.

Featured Chapter: University of New Mexico

Founded in 2010 by Felicia Alexander, UNM – Nourish has been incredibly successful, earning over $10,000 and implementing a sustainable development project in Nicaragua their first year. This chapter has had the strong support of Professor Matias Fontenia in their first years and it has been incredibly beneficial to their ability to run ventures and implement an international development project. As the UNM chapter continues to grow, they engage their members in thoughtful discussions on international development and work to spread awareness about their work on campus. In the summer of 2012, UNM plans to implement two projects, one in Peru working with Project Amazonas to construct a public health clinic, and the second in Ghana working with ABAN to support vocational training for local young women.

“These are great students, and they will be great leaders.” – Matias Fontenia
